About Us

Mike Ruck, President of Rain Water Solutions of Raleigh, NC, has been collecting rainwater for nearly 15 years. It all started when a rain barrel that his grandfather had made for his grandmother was passed down through the family. "We loved it, right from the start," says Lynn Ruck, wife and business partner. "It amazed us at just how quickly it would fill up. We use the rain water in our gardens and for all of our house plants. They thrive on it."

Mike and Lynn started Rain Water Solutions and manufacture their own rain barrels from 100% recycled content. They also design and install complete rain water harvesting systems for residential and commercial clients, helping them make the most out of this precious natural resource.

Mike and Lynn are passionate about rainwater harvesting and all things 
environmentally friendly. Mike currently serves as 'Chief Water 
Officer' for Rain Water Solutions, providing oversight for all operations while coordinating sales and product distribution. He graduated from Appalachian State University and recently served as the Southeastern representative for the American Rainwater Catchment Systems Association (ARCSA). Mike sits on the Green Builders of the Triangle Education Committee and is an active member of the Emerging Green Builders of the Triangle, part of the US Green Building Council.

Mike is also certified as an ARCSA Rainwater Catchment Systems Accredited Professional.
